Imogene Ives Shinnick, 80, of 3 Mayfield Drive, died Sunday evening at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she had been a patient since Oct. 8.
The funeral was scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Foxwood Mausoleum Chapel, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. James Loghren, assistant pastor of St. Mary's Church, officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial park, Ogdensburg.
Surviving are two sons, a twin sister, three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and a sister died before her.
Born April 7, 1915, in Ogdensburg, daughter of George Milton and Georgia Canfield Ives, she graduated from St. Mary's Academy, Ogdensburg, in 1933 and was a stenographer all her working life.
She was first employed at Ogdensburg City Hall and then by the U.S. Engineers, Massena, from July 1942 to March 1943, when she was transferred to Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., and then to Georgia.
She married Keith Dory on Jan. 9, 1943, in Sault Ste. Marie. The marriage ended in divorce.
She married Hugh A. Shinnick Oct. 2, 1954. Mr. Shinnick, a retired U.S. Postal Service worker, died Aug. 16, 1982.
Mrs. Shinnick returned to the north country in the late 1940s and again worked at Ogdensburg City Hall. She was then employed by the Farmers Home Administration, Canton, for 10 years, and by Potsdam State University College for 20 years, retiring in September 1982.
She had lived in Potsdam since 1954.
Mrs. Shinnick was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, and a member of the Potsdam American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliaries, and the auxiliary to Amvets, Massena.
She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, knitting, shuffleboard and listening to country and Hawaiian music.
