George "Bill" Sheppard, 69, of 31 Justina St., died early Friday in the emergency room of Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg, after being stricken at his home.
Mr. Sheppard was a milk hauler for several years and was later employed by Ogdensburg Creamery. He was also a truck driver for McCadam and Aiello's Cheese Plant. He was later a self-employed carpenter and operated an artificial insemination business, retiring in 1990 due to ill health.
Born July 29, 1927, in Ogdensburg, son of J. Howard and Gertrude Chambers Sheppard , he was a graduate of Heuvelton Central School.
He married Betty Candage on April 24, 1955, at Rotterdam Junction.
Mr. Sheppard was an exempt member of Heuvelton Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, a daughter, two brothers, eight grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Fox Funeral Home, Ogdensburg. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg, at a later date.
