Beatrice E. Seguin, 86, of 927 Washington St., died Thursday evening at her home, where she was under the care of Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley.
Miss Seguin was a telephone operator for many years, retiring in 1980. She also was a French interpreter during the 1980 Winter Olympic games at Lake Placid.
Born June 5, 1918, in Ogdensburg, daughter of Joseph and Carrice Belanger Seguin , she graduated from Ogdensburg schools.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral and made several trips to St. Ann's Shrine in Quebec. She was a member of Ogdensburg Golden Age Club and Children International, sponsoring many children.
She enjoyed her pen pals, communicating with people around the world and gardening.
Surviving are several cousins.
A sister, Dora M. Seguin, and five brothers, Edmund, Alfred, Arthur, Oscar and Cyrus Seguin, died before her.
A funeral Mass will be said at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Terry R. LaValley, rector, officiating. Entombment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
