Carmela Rose Robillard, 85, of 531 Patterson St., died early Thursday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
Mrs. Robillard was a homemaker and after raising her children worked at Grant's Department Store, Kmart, Bishop Conroy School and St. Marguerite D'Youville Academy.
Born May 28, 1922, in Raymondville, daughter of Leonard and Catherine Costanzo DeLia, she graduated from Watertown High School in 1940 and attended the Bellevue Hospital School of Nursing, New York City.
She married Patrick J. Robillard on Nov. 21, 1942, and in 1948 the couple moved back to Ogdensburg.
Mrs. Robillard was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish and a member of the Holy Name Society and local badminton and bowling leagues. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and bloodmobiles. She enjoyed square and round dancing, flower gardening, crossword puzzles, solving mysteries, reading, traveling with her husband and feeding birds, rabbits and squirrels.
Surviving besides her husband are four sons and two daughters-in-law, a brother and his wife, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A son, Lawrence, a daughter, Cathy Anne Robillard, and two brothers, Dominic and Louis DeLia, died before her.
A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral with her brother-in-law, Monsignor Thomas J. Robillard, and the Rev. Terry R. LaValley officiating. Entombment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
