He was born February 14, 1913 in Castle Gate, Utah, a son of Alexander Jackson Bell, Sr. and Anna Marie Hartley Bell. He married Maud Clement on October 1, 1934 in Nephi, Utah.
He was a coal miner and farmer in Fairview from 1934 to 1950. Then in 1950, he went to work for Geneva Steel until his retirement in 1975 at the age of 62. He was a member of the Provo Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is survived by his wife, of Orem; one son and three daughters: Anna B. (Eldwin) Lane, of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Yvonne (Bob) Graham, of Buena Park, California; Jean Bell, of Orem, Utah; Dewey (Joleen) Bell, of Salt Lake City, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Hugh Bell, Allen Bell and Glen Bell. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Gay Bell; a grandson, Robert Graham; two brothers: Alexander J. Bell, Jr., Peter Hartley Bell.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 3, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the Berg Mortuary of Orem, 500 North State Street. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Orem on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Fairview City Cemetery.
