Lloyd Dean Putman, 90, of 912 Franklin St., died Wednesday morning at Hepburn Medical Center.
Mr. Putman was a cook at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center from 1939 until his retirement in 1968. He also operated a small-engine repair shop at his home for many years.
Born Dec. 29, 1909, in Hermon, son of Joel Warren and Ada Luella Smith Putman , he attended schools in Hermon.
He married Ruth Muriel Fox on March 23, 1939, at the home of her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Zuar McLellan, in Gouverneur, with the Rev. Walter V. Bacon, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Canton, officiating. The couple spent their entire married lives in Ogdensburg, living on Mansion Avenue before moving to Franklin Street in 1944.
Mr. Putman became a resident of United Helpers Nursing Home in July. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 128.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, a sister, five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A brother, Merritt, died before him.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home with the Rev. Bernard W. Fortune officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
