Muriel E. Born, 82, of Terre Haute, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, in her residence. She was born on Staten Island, N.Y., on April 4, 1927, to William and Helen Irving. She married Robert Born in 1947, and he preceded her in death in 2001. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Muriel is survived by three sons, Ralph Born and LuAnne of South Carolina, David Born and wife Sharon of Maryland, and Doug Born and wife Heidi of New Jersey; five grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, Alex, Andrew, and Erica Born; and two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Amanda Born. She also was preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Terre Haute. Visitation will be today, May 14, 2009, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Ave. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 15, 2009, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dana Newhouse officiating. Burial will be in Highland Lawn Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to Habitat for Humanity, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
