A Founder of the 1894 Delta Chapter of the Arethusa Literary Society of the Oneonta, NY Normal School.

"... Mrs. Anderson was born in Pennsylvania on Dec. 15, 1875. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Comfort, pioneer residents of Madison County(MT).

Following graduation (1897) from Oneonta Teacher College at Oneonta, N. Y., she joined the faculty of Western Montana College, then Montana State Normal School, in 1898, teaching elocution and physical culture. In addition to teaching she continued her education receiving an additional diploma in 1899 with the second graduating class of Dillon College(MT).

She was superintendent of schools in Madison County(MT) for eight years and also taught in various schools in the state.

She was a member of the DAR and Daisy Chapter No. 20, Order of Eastern Star, which bears her name, honoring her as the youngest charter member..." - Anaconda Standard,Butte,MT,Sunday, March 13, 1960, page 9B.
