Nannie Marie Lafon, age 77, of McKinney, Texas, passed away December 2, 2011, in McKinney, Texas. Nannie was born August 23, 1934, in Garland, Texas, to Charlie and Sleane (Grigsby) Granstaff. She married Marvin Ray Lafon on August 28, 1954, in Garland. Nannie worked for Kraft Foods in Garland where she met her husband, Marvin. She was a cook for the Garland ISD and McKinney ISD. Nannie also worked with her son at Sunrise Learning Center as a cook. She was a member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church in Allen where she was very involved. Nannie's church and family were of utmost importance to her. She is survived by her son, Rickie Lafon and his wife, Jan of Melissa, Texas; daughter Linda Dillard and her husband, Keith of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Caleb Lafon of Melissa, Texas; granddaughters, Leah Lafon of Melissa, Texas, Kristy Dillard and Misty Dillard, both of McKinney, Texas; and a host of other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Ray Lafon, parents, four sisters, and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Big Springs Cemetery in Garland, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
