Leona Suko, 93, Gackle, N.D., died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at the Napoleon Care Center, Gackle.

Leona Remboldt was born June 16, 1914, at the family farm north of Gackle, the daughter of Peter and Fredricka (Teskey) Remboldt. She grew up and attended the local rural school and also helped on the family farm. She married Gotthilf Suko on March 25, 1936, in Jamestown. They made their homes on farms north of Alfred, N.D., in Stutsman County, and moved to the farmstead eight miles north of Alfred in 1940. He died in December 1974 and she moved to Gackle. She entered the Napoleon Care Center in 2000. She was a member of the Assembly of God, Gackle.

She is survived by four sons, Duane (DeElda) and Neil (Connie), both Alfred, Harley (Faye), Plummer, Minn., and Myron "Joe" (Connie), Mesa, Ariz.; three daughters, Mavis (Richard) Ben, Alfred, Myra Grenz, Bismarck, N.D., and Margie (Darrel) Dockter, Medina, N.D.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, a daughter, a son-in-law, Gerald Grenz, her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Gackle, with the Rev. Russ Pollock officiating.
Visitation: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Haut Funeral Chapel, Gackle.
Burial: Gackle Cemetery, Gackle.
