CLINTON, Ind. — Paul Foltz, 81 years old, RR 3, Clinton, Ind., died Thursday morning at 2 o'clock at the Vermillion County Hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Foltz passed away the day before he and his wife Hazel Walther Foltz would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1911. Mr. Foltz was one of five children of Gideon Luther and Sciota Ike Foltz.

He is survived by the widow, Hazel; five sons, Kenneth, Dale, Donald and Max of Clinton and Leon, Paris, Il., and a daughter, Mrs. James (Eleanor) Murray, Clinton; a brother, Lloyd, Terre Haute, 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Foltz was born on Easter. Sunday, April 6, 1890 in a log house about one-quarter mile from his present residence on Range Line Road. A prominent farmer, he lived his entire life on his farm in this area. Mr. Foltz also worked for 30 years at a local mine owned by the Clinton Coal Co. He served as a weigh boss at Crown Hill No. 5 for 14 years.
He was a charter member of Indiana Farm Bureau and was active in the organization about 50 years. He was an ardent and faithful church worker and belonged to the Methodist Church all his life, first at the Centenary, then Fairview Methodist Churches and was a charter member of their successor, the Wayside Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Frist Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 1:30 by the Rev. Charles Flory, with the Rev. Edwin Schachterle assisting. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Friday during the afternoon and evening.
