George was a cabinet maker.
He first married Caroline OGDEN on Sept. 12, 1852, in Rushville, Rush Co., Indiana. With Caroline, he had three children: Mary Elizabeth (who married Wm. COCHRAN), William Isaac, and George Elsworth.
Caroline died in March 1862.
He secondly married Frances Elizabeth SLOAN on December 14, 1862, in Rushville, Rush Co., Indiana. With Frances, he had three children: Frank, Vernie May (who married James WRIGHT), and Clayton P.
Mary Francis Sloan Hufford is buried in an unmarked grave in
the Crown Hill Cemetery near Indianapolis. A number of Famous or well known people are buried there, including depression era Gangster John Dillinger.
