Ronald F. Petrie, 65, of 432 Belmont Court, died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Petrie was first employed by Picken Removal in Canton. He later worked for Collins Amusement and then for Witherbee and Whalen in Canton. He then worked for Roland LaFave and most recently worked for Bonfare, both in Ogdensburg.
Born Dec. 2, 1938, in Ogdensburg, son of Francis and Louise McLelland Petrie , he attended school in Rensselaer Falls and Canton. He served in the Navy from April 1956 to January 1963.
He married Nancy Lee Goolden on Aug. 31, 1958, in Morley with the Rev. Ray L. Morgan officiating.
Mr. Petrie was a former member of Amvets and he enjoyed watching football and playing the state lottery.
Surviving besides his wife are a son and his wife, four daughters and two sons-in-law, two brothers, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Ruth Charleton, and a granddaughter died before him.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Frary Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Smith officiating.
