A funeral mass for Henry "Hank" Dunlap, 62, of Lexington, will be held Friday, May 17, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic church in Purcell, with Father William Ross officiating. Interment will be in Lexington Catholic cemetery under direction of Little's funeral home. A wake service will be held at 7pm, Thursday, May 16, at Little's funeral home chapel. Mr Dunlap died May 14 at Presbyterian hospital in Oklaoma City.
He was born 8/15/1933 in Birmingham, Ala., the son of Jefferson & Mae Dunlap.
Mr Dunlap married the former Marilyn Schmitz in Colorado Springs, CO., 4/28/1958. In 1955, Mr Dunlap joined the Army and served for a total of 20 years. During that time, he was stationed in many different countries, fought in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, and received many medals and commendations. He retired as Major, while stationed at Ft Sill. After he returned, his family moved to Lexington. Over the past 10 years, he had been an instructor at Mid-America Vo-Tech in Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of the home, 3 sons, Blaine Dunlap and Mike & his wife, Jeri, all of Lexington, and Craig Dunlap & his fiance Traci Thomas of Moore, 1 brother, Albert Dunlap of Birmingham, Ala, 4 sisters, Dorothy Tubbs of Birmingham and Sue and Vollie Dunlap and Ann Thorn, all of Jacksonville, FL, and 3 grandchildren.
