Robert G. Perkins, 48, of 41 W. Barney St., Gouverneur, died Sunday of a heart attack at Edward John Noble Hospital, where he was admitted Saturday.
Mr. Perkins was project manager for Cives Steel Corp., where he had worked since 1971 .
Born March 23, 1950, in Ogdensburg, son of Henry and Rita Saucier Perkins , he graduated from Heuvelton High School, and from Canton Agricultural and Technical College in 1971.
He married Joanelle Putman on Sept. 18, 1971, at St. John's Church in Morristown.
Mr. Perkins had been a member of the Gouverneur Village Board. He was a member of the board of Marble City Housing, Cambray Housing and the Cambray Housing Association. He also was involved with the assisted living project soon to be Pine Grove Community.
He was an avid golfer and organized the Cives annual golf tournament. He also enjoyed bowling.
He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and served on the board at St. James School.
Surviving besides his wife and his father, Ogdensburg, are two daughters, a grandson, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
His mother died in June 1969.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at St. James Catholic Church, Gouverneur, with the Rev. Vicente F. Jazmines, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Mausoleum, Ogdensburg.
