Mr. Johnson was predeceased in death by his parents, siblings and son, Karl L. Clark.
Mr. Johnson attended public schools in Asbury, NJ. He then joined the United States Army in 1942. He retired from New York Transit after 30 years of service.
He relocated to Richmond, Virginia in 1988 and later joined Quioccasin Baptist Church. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Male Usher board until his health failed.
Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. All who knew him, loved him. His family and those who knew him always remember the good times in life with Bill as well as sorrowful times.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his devoted wife, Jeanette P. Johnson; two daughters, Brenda L. Haqq (Sharid Abdul) and Dorothea R. Breland (Dez); two sons, William A. Johnson (Freida) and Keith A. Clark (Yasmeen); six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Woodrow Wilson and Blanche Allen; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Remains rested at March Funeral Home, 2110 E. Laburnum Ave., where viewing was held Wednesday, May 16, 2007, from 9am to 8pm. Funeral service held at 12 noon on Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Quioccasin Baptist Church, 9011 Quioccasin Rd. Dr. Rev. Andrew Mosley Jr. officiated. Interment Quioccasin Baptist Church Cemetery.
