Wanda A. Pearson, 77, formerly of Pearson Road, died Tuesday at United Helpers Canton Nursing Home.
Mrs. Pearson was a homemaker and had been a foster parent for several years. In 1965 she completed her nurse's aide training at E.J. Noble Hospital and worked as a laboratory technician for seven years at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam, transferring to Massena Memorial Hospital for an additional three years and retiring in 1975.
Born Dec. 9, 1927, in Piercefield, daughter of James and Ida Supernault Barney , she attended Madrid Central School.
She married Raymond Pearson on Jan. 18, 1945, in Bucks Bridge. The marriage ended in divorce.
She enjoyed traveling, dancing, knitting, crocheting, making jewelry, gardening and buying and selling real estate. She also owned the Masonic Lodge in Rensselaer Falls which she referred to as "The Store," where she had weekly garage sales.
Surviving are a son and his wife, a daughter and her husband, five sisters, three brothers and their wives, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. Douglas F. Ingersoll officiating. Entombment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.
