James A. Pearson, C.P.A., 51, of 115 Rensselaer Ave., died at home at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, of cancer.
The funeral will be held in Ogdensburg at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the McLellan Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, Ogdensburg. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.
Surviving are his wife, his mother, Margaret Willard Pearson, Ogdensburg; two daughters, a step-daughter, and a son.
Born in Ogdensburg June 1, 1948, a son of the late James Pearson and Margaret Willard Pearson , he was graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1957 and the joined the Navy the same year. He served on active duty until 1961, when he joined the Reserves. He then went to school at Canton ATC, and was graduated from Albany State University College where he majored in accounting. In 1965, he joined the accounting firm of Whalen, Davey and Looney, Ogdensburg. He was licenced as a C.P.A. in 1975, and became a partner in the firm the same year.
A marriage in 1962 to Patricia Pease ended in divorce.
He married Bonnie Hannah Monroe July 9, 1971, in Notre Dame Church, Ogdensburg.
Mr. Pearson was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral, and was active in civic affairs. He was the past president of the Lions Club and of the Boys and Girls Club. He was a member of the Ogdensburg Lodge of Elks, the Expo committee in Ogdensburg, and the State Association of Certified Public Accountants.
