A funeral Mass for Wilbert J. Patterson, 90, of 201 Albany Ave., retired school custodian, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral with Monsignor Robert H. Aucoin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Patterson died Tuesday evening in A. Barton Hepburn Hospital.
Surviving are his wife, Marie; three sons, a daughter, nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
A daughter, Faith Marie Patterson, died in infancy. Two brothers, Robert H. and Howard S. Patterson , and a sister, Anna Patterson Wild, also died previously.
He was born April 2, 1903, in Prescott, Ontario, a son of William and Ethel Sutherland Patterson .
He married Marie M. LaVenture Oct. 28, 1935, at the Ogdensburg Presbyterian church manse with the Rev. Dr. William C. MacIntyre officiating.
Mr. Patterson became a citizen of the United States in 1935. He was a custodian in the Ogdensburg school system for 24 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a life member and past grand master of Ogdensburg Masonic Lodge 128, and was formerly active in the Odd Fellows and Moose lodges of Ogdensburg. Mr. Patterson also coached city basketball at the Lincoln School for many years and enjoyed playing badminton.
