William Buford Collins, Sr. died at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 1972 in Spartanburg General Hospital following a short illness. Native of Spartanburg County and son of Samuel E. and Nancv Jane Cothren Collins. Member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and a retired farmer by trade. Funeral service were held Monday, March 27, 1972 at 4 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church withe Revs. Calvin Turner and E. C. Campbell officiating. Survivors included: his wife, Grace Walden Collins, six daughters, two sons, six sisters, a brother, 32 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was 77 years of age at his demise.
