| Birth: | Apr. 21, 1922 | | Death: | Jun. 3, 2009 |  US Congressman. A member of the Democratic Party from Hawaii, he served in the United States House of Representatives from 1963 to 1965. Born in Honolulu, he was recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star while serving in the United States Military during World War II. Upon his discharge, he attained his law degree from the University of California Law School in Berkeley. In 1958, he was elected to the Territorial House of Representatives, and served as majority floor leader from 1959 to 1962. After an unsuccessful bid for Hawaii's US Senate seat, he was elected Lieutenant Governor and served at that capacity from 1966 to 1970. Following his career in politics, Gill returned to practicing law. (bio by: C.S.)
