Veteran of the American Revolution. He was a private in Capt.John Lyon's and Capt.Jesse Perrin's companies which marched on the alarm of Apr 19,1775. he was also in Capt.Joseph Franklin's company, Col.Thomas Carpenter's regiment for 18 days at Rhode Island on the alarm of Dec 8,1776.

He married, first, Jan 11,1757 at Rehoboth,MA, Ruth Kent.

He married, second, Jan 13,1788 at Rehoboth,MA, Chloe Newman.

Children(by first marriage): Sylvester Armington, Joseph Armington, Molly Armington, Hannah Armington, Betty Armington Rhodes, Russell Armington, Ruth Armington Remington, Olive Armington Peck, John Armington Jr, and Prudence Armington Chaffee.
