OBIT: died September 29, 1906 - Mrs. Kistler Died Suddenly Taken Ill While Getting Dinner - End Was a Terrible Shock to Her Family While getting dinner today for her husband and son, Mrs. Peter Kistler, of No. 287 East Third street, was taken with a sinking spell from which she did not regain consciousness, death ending her sufferings at a few minutes past 12 o'clock. Her death came as a severe shock to her family and friends. No one was in the house at the time she was taken with the attack but she was found a few minutes later, lying on the floor, by her son, John Kistler, who came into the house. Her husband was in the yard at the time and was grief stricken when he learned of her condition. Dr. Morris was immediately summoned but by the time he arrived she was dead. Mrs. Kistler has been suffering with spells of her heart for some time but otherwise she had been in good health for one of her age. Mrs. Kistler was a native of Munich, Germany. She was born February 12, 1829. When twenty-four years of age she came to this country and fifty-two years ago was united in marriage with Peter Kistler, at Dubuque, Iowa. A few years later they came to Galesburg, which has since been their home. Two years ago this coming November they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home in this city, at which time several of their children and immediate relatives were present from away. Mrs. Kistler was a member of the First Methodist church and was highly respected by all who knew her. To mourn her death she is survived by her husband and the following children, Mrs. Annie Luikart, of Norfolk, Nebraska; B. F. Kistler and John Kistler of this city and Mrs. Sophia Stremmell, of Rushville besides numerous other relatives and friends. The time of the funeral services will be announced later.

Note: missing is son, William G. Kistler of Rushville.
Note: Luikart in my notes is spelled Luckhart.

Mrs. Peter Kistler of Galesburg (IL) died suddenly at her home in Galesburg on Saturday; aged eighty {80} years. Wm. Kistler left home that morning to come to Rushville, leaving his mother as well as usual, but when he stepped off the train he was handed a telegram announcing her death. Mr. Kistler returned home at once, accompanied by his sister, Mrs. Wm. Stremmel, and her husband. Later information conveys the news that Mrs. Kistler died of apoplexy at 11:30 Saturday morning. She and her husband have frequently visited their children here and were known to many Rushville people. On Tuesday funeral services were held in Galesburg. Mrs. Chas. Kuechler, Miss Minnie Stremmel, Orlen and Paul Stremmel, and Mrs. Wm. Kistler and children attended the funeral.
