She was born Aug. 25, 1897, in rural Maroa, a daughter of Theodore A. and Julia Cooper Gardner.
She married Chester Douglas Riley Sr. Dec. 22, 1915, in Maroa. He died in 1972.
Surviving are three sons, Leon, Camarillo, Calif., and Chester Jr. and Richard F., both of Decatur; three daughters, Maxine Green, Ellsworth; Bettie Kirk wood, Pueblo, Colo., and Janice Bales, Decatur; a brother, Albert, Maroa; 33 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Mrs. Riley was a member of the First Church of God, Decatur.
