Mr. Julius Kermit Blair, age 81 of Mt. Vernon, died Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. He was born in Verda, in Harlan County, KY on July 21, 1927 the son of James Aaron and Mary Witt Blair. He was a retired prototype builder for the Dept. of the Army. He was an army veteran of World War II, was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church, and was a former Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Virginia Blair; four sons, Jerry M. Blair (Elaine), Gary E. Blair (Irene), Jeffery K. Blair (Delilah), and John F. Blair (Teresa), all of Mt. Vernon; twelve grandchildren, Jerry Scott Blair, Troy Mitchell Blair, Michael Glenn Blair, Bill Blair, Jason Keith Blair, Saben Blair, Jamie Linville, Jeffrey Linville, Jacob Blair, Nicole Blair, Brittany Blair, and Katelyn Blair; and nine great grandchildren, Justin Blair, Gabriel Blair, Jarrod Blair, Cody Blair, Makayla Blair, Rachel Blair, Curtis Blair, Kyle Blair, and Canaan Linville. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Mae Barnett Blair; two brothers, John Henry Blair and James Edgar Blair; and five sisters, Cecelia Boise, Emma Isaacs, Cleo Rigsby, Edith Ott, and Beatrice Blair.
