Vincent Pagano, 80, Route 3, Eel Weir Road, formerly of Mount Vernon, retired professional house painter, died at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Hospital, Yonkers, where he had been a patient the past four weeks. Mr. Pagano had been in ill health for three months.
A prayer service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, Heuvelton, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Raphael's Church, Heuvelton, with Msgr. Joseph Bailey, pastor, officiating. Internment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Surviving are a son, a daughter, five grandchildren; three sisters, Florida; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother, Sam, died previously.
Born in Mount Vernon on Dec. 20, 1907, a son of Joseph and Elsie Liguri Pagano , he was graduated from high school in Mount Vernon and also served in the Navy for two years.
He married Rose Russo Aug. 16, 1931. The couple moved from Mount Vernon to the Bronx in 1948. Mr. Pagano was employed as a professional house painter in that area all of his working life. As a younger man, he enjoyed sketching and drawing.
Mr. and Mrs. Pagano moved to the north country in 1981, to make their home nearer to their son. Mrs. Pagano was a native of the Bronx and the former owner and operator of Rose's Embroidery Shop in Mount Vernon. She died July 25, 1985, at age 71.
