Mabel "Jean" O'Marah, 75, Morley Park Drive, formerly of Ford Street, died early Tuesday in Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
Mrs. O'Marah was a waitress at the Gran-View Restaurant and later was a salesclerk from 1974 to 1984 at National Army Store. She and her husband, Morris J., owned and operated O'Marah's Shell gas station on Ford Street from 1968 to 1984.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, dancing, crossword puzzles, card games, plastic canvas crafts and country music.
Born Nov. 7, 1927, in Spearfish, S.D., daughter of Arno and Gretchen Surfling Erickson, she attended school in Rapid City, S.D.
She married Mr. O'Marah, a native of Ogdensburg, on Dec. 20, 1951, in Rapid City. They moved to Ogdensburg in 1954. He died June 16, 1997.
Surviving are four sons and three daughters-in-law, two daughters and a son-in-law, Oa sister, a brother, 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two sisters, Charlotte Christianson and Marvel Cabe, and a granddaughter died before her.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert G. Spratt officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Donations may be made to Ogdensburg Volunteer Fire Department.
