Agnes E. Norko, 90, of 1411 Greene St., died Saturday evening at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
Mrs. Norko worked at Frappier's Awning Co. and A&P Co., both in Massena, before moving to Ogdensburg in 1951. In Ogdensburg, she worked at Empsall's, where she was a cosmetologist, at Hector's Restaurant and at Simpson's Drug Store, where she was a sales clerk. She retired Dec. 31, 1963, due to her health.
She was a member of Notre Dame Church. She enjoyed cooling, baking, reading, music, dancing, rides in the country, bird-watching, fishing, walking and the companionship of her pets. She also enjoyed helping out at her daughter's fashion shop, Margaret-Anne's Boutique, and enjoyed contact with the customers.
Born Jan. 31, 1914, in Watertown, daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth Montondo Sabourin, she attended Watertown schools and later received her cosmetology training and degree in New York City.
She married Stephen G. Norko in March 1933 in Ayer, Mass. The couple lived in Massachusetts, Watertown and Massena. Mr. Norko died Jan. 22, 1957.
Surviving are two daughters, a daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A son, Raymond P., a sister, Alice Neault, a brother, William Sabourin, a grandson, a great-grandson and a nephew died before her.
There will be no funeral or calling hours. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
