Cynthia S. Nipe, 71, Ford Street, died Monday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
Born Oct. 26, 1934, in Ogdensburg, daughter of J. Ralph and Dorothy Girard Rivers, she graduated in 1954 from Ogdensburg Free Academy.
She graduated as a registered nurse from the St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing in 1957.
She married Manley B. Nipe on May 12, 1956. The couple had resided in their present home since then.
Mrs. Nipe was a member of the Forsyth's Rifles re-enactment unit. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing.
Surviving besides her husband are a son and his wife, a daughter and her husband, a sister, two brothers and a sister-in-law, six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother, Edward Rivers, and a sister, Rosalie Compo, died before her.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating.
