Jack W. Mousaw, 61, of 37 Riverside Drive, died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg, where he had been a patient since March 15. Mr. Mousaw had been in ill health for the past four years.
The funeral was scheduled for 1 p.m. today at the Fox Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. Joseph Elliott, pastor of St. Mary's Church, officiating. Burial was in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.
He is survived by two sons, two daughters, nine grandchildren, a great-granddaughter; two brothers, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A grandson, Michael Hazen, died September 1990.
Born April 10, 1930, in Canton, son of Bernard and Kathryn Stone Mousaw, he attended Canton High School and married Joan Daigneau July 5, 1948, in St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Robert J. McCarthy officiating. Mrs. Mousaw died Wednesday.
Mr. Mousaw first worked at the A&P food store in Canton as a meat cutter, and later owned and operated an automotive repair garage in Potsdam. He then worked at the former Hotel Harrington in Canton as a bartender, and was last employed as a forklift operator in the receiving department at the Potsdam Paper Co.
Mr. Mousaw retired due to ill health in 1987. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Mr. Mousaw was a member and former union officer of United Paper Makers International Union Local 1726, Potsdam. He had lived at 37 Riverside Drive for the past three years.
