Gwendolyn L. Morris, 78, of 805 Caroline St., died Monday evening at her home.
Mrs. Morris worked at P&C Foods for 30 years, retiring in 1990 as head cashier.
Born May 3, 1921, in Ogdensburg, a daughter of Augustus and Helen Gwin LaComb, she was a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy. She was a life resident of Ogdensburg.
She married George C. Morris on Nov. 27, 1941, at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Henry McFadden officiating. Mr. Morris died April 21, 1988.
Mrs. Morris enjoyed bowling and was an avid reader. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Hepburn Hospital Auxiliary and Ogdensburg Senior Citizens.
Surviving are four daughters and two sons-in-law, a brother, a grandson and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Three sisters, Kay Douglas, Betty Regan and Marie Skelly, and two brothers, Gus and Harold LaComb , died before her.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Joseph Wheelock officiating. Burial will follow in Foxwood Memorial Park.
