Vaughn Morley, 63, of 514 Clark St., died Sunday while on a New York City holiday bus tour with her daughter. She collapsed outside of their motel room door and was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, Paterson, N.J., where she died in the emergency room.
Mrs. Morley was a 35-year employee at Eddy's Supermarket where she worked in the produce and meat departments. She had resided in Ogdensburg for most of her life and moved to her present address in 1984.
Born June 9, 1934, in the town of DePeyster, daughter of Maurice and Thaida Paul Thornhill, she attended DePeyster schools and was a 1952 graduate of St. Mary's Academy.
She married Edward "Chic" Morley July 16, 1955, in Notre Dame Church. The couple spent several winters in Florida. Mr. Morley, a stonemason, died Nov. 26, 1987.
She enjoyed her work and her grandchildren and since her husband's death, had traveled to various places on bus tours. She was a member of Notre Dame parish.
Surviving are her daughter, her mother and her stepfather, two half sisters, a brother, four stepsisters, three stepbrothers, and two grandchildren.
A sister, Mrs. Harry (Patricia) Wells, and two half brothers, Thomas J. Sellers and Ronald Sellers, died before her.
A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Fox Funeral Home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. John M. Demo, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
