Cecil E. Emerson, 57, of Damascus, formerly of Rockville, died June 27 at
Montgomery General Hospital in Olney.
Born in Olney, he was a son of Hazel R. Emerson of Gaithersburg and the late
Max Kelly Emerson.
He was the husband of Connie F. Emerson.
Mr. Emerson was a graduate of Richard Montgomery High School, class of 1961,
He retired from the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., where he
had worked as an analyst. He had won numerous awards in his 30 years of service.
He was of the Methodist faith. His hobbies were golfing and archery and he was
a motorcycle enthusiast.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two children, Deonna E. Bricker
of Prospect, Ky., and Dennis J. Emerson of Frederick; four grandchildren; one
brother, Frank G. Emerson of Gaithersburg; and one sister, Faye E. Rowe of
Muriel H. Barber Funeral Home in Laytonsville handled the arrangements.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home June 30. Interment was in
Parklawn Cemetery in Rockville.
