A memorial service for Charles L. Montroy, 69, United Helpers Cedars Nursing Home, former resident of Ford Street and a retired construction worker, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Foxwood Memorial Park chapel with the Rev. Ivan Boyea, pastor of Notre Dame Church, officiating. The body was cremated. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Montroy died Sunday afternoon in the emergency room of A. Barton Hepburn Hospital.
Contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association.
Surviving are a son, a daughter, three grandchildren; a brother, three half brothers, two half sisters, and nieces and nephews.
A brother, Lloyd Montroy , died previously.
He was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Ogdensburg, a son of Leo Charles and Amelia Massia Montreuil. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Montroy lived all of his life in Ogdensburg, where he was employed in construction.
He had been a resident of United Helpers Cedars Nursing Home for the past year.
A marriage to Wanda L. Gilbert in divorce.
