A memorial Mass for Robert E. Montpetit, 70, of 987 Moreland Road, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Raphael's Church, Heuvelton, with the Rev. Terry R. LaValley officiating.
Mr. Montpetit died Monday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
He served in the Army from 1948 to 1951 during the Korean War and was employed by the City of Ogdensburg Highway Department until his retirement in 1991.
Born Oct. 23, 1931, in Ogdensburg, son of Theodore and Elizabeth Mills Montpetit , he was a graduate of Ogdensburg Free Academy. He married Rosemary Denny on Aug. 3, 1952, at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. Robert J. Giroux officiating.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of Amvets Post 19 and American Legion Post 69, where he served as a color guard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, play golf and woodworking.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons and a daughter-in-law, three daughters and their husbands, two brothers, a sister, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Donald R. and Wallace Montpetit , and a sister, Lillian Sargent, died before him.
