Russell J. Mills, 94, Washington Street, died Wednesday at his home.

He was employed with IBM starting in 1937, working in Long Island, Kingston, Missouri, Montana and Colorado before returning to Kingston where he retired as division manager in 1972.

Born March 30, 1913, in Oneonta, son of William T. and Esther Marble Mills , he graduated from Cherry Valley High School and Coyne Electrical School, Chicago, Ill. He served in the Army Air Forces as a master sergeant during World War II.

He married Roberta MacRorie on Aug. 14, 1938, in Middlefield. Mrs. Mills died Jan. 22, 1994.

Mr. Mills was a member of Heuvelton First Presbyterian Church and Heuvelton American Legion, where he was a trustee for nine years. He was a former member of the Heuvelton Village Board and Development Corp.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, a daughter and son-in-law, two grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Two sisters, Ethelyne Roberts and Ruby Bruggeman, died before him.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home with Lee Lewandowski, lay minister, officiating. Burial will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.
