Jefferson Jett, Esq. an old and respected citizen of the 8th district of Knox county, died at his home last week of cancer.

Will of Jefferson Jett

In the name of God Amen. I Jefferson Jett of the county of Knox and State of Tennessee; calling to mind the uncertainty of human affairs and knowing that it is appointed unto all men to die; and being now of a perfect mind and disposing memory, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows to wit:
First and Principally - I consign my soul to God and my body to the Earth to be decently buried. And after paying all just debts and funeral charges I divide and bequeath as follows, to wit;
Second - I give and bequeath unto my beloved granddaughter Margaret Jenkins, one feather bed, one sheet, two quilts, two pillows and one bedstead being the same used by me at this time and the remaining bed clothing shall be equally divided among my children by my second wife.
Third - That all monies collected from outstanding notes and accounts after paying all just debts, shall be equally divided among my children.
Fourth - That all my perishable property shall be sold in eight months and the proceeds shall be equally divided among my children.
Fifth & Lastly - I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint H N Brother my true and lawful Executor, he to receive the sum of Ten Dollars for his service so rendered. This my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking all former wills made by me at any time.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal. This 11th day of February , One Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty Two.
