Ronald K. McDonald, 69, of 1034 Ford St., died Thursday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center.
Mr. McDonald worked in the warehouse at Diamond International for many years, retiring in 1978.
Born May 30, 1935, in Gouverneur, son of Bernard and Margaret Gillette McDonald , he attended St. Mary's Academy and received a high school diploma while serving in the Army. He served during the Korean War in the 101st Screaming Eagles as a paratrooper.
He married Joan Sprigs on June 18, 1960, at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Philip Allen officiating.
He volunteered at the Ogdensburg Boys Club Expo and at St. Marguerite D'Youville Academy and enjoyed bingo, horse races, golf and fishing.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters and their husbands, two brothers and a sister-in-law, a grandson and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Bonnie, died in infancy.
A prayer service will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. Entombment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
