Charles H. Alford, 76, of 1444 Kimwood Drive, died July 24, 1987, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Services are 9:30 a.m. Monday at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home chapel with burial in Lakewood Cemetery....
A former resident of Memphis, he had lived in Jackson the past 15 years. He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marines. He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 32 years before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Field Alford of Jackson; a daughter, Mrs. Sue Jeter of Memphis; two stepsons, Robert J. Peet and John D. Peet, both of Jackson; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Alford Wallace and Mrs. Mabelle Alford Riser, both of Raymond; and a granddaughter and three step–grandsons....
