Birth: Jun. 1, 1860
Bronx County
New York, USA
Death: Jan. 2, 1945
New York, USA

In 1932, this retired, 72 year old Bronx School teacher was suddenly thrust on to the world stage as JAFSIE, the mediator between authorities working on the Lindbergh baby kidnapping case and the alleged kidnappers. More of a busybody than an investigator, Dr. Condon managed to work his way into the case, convincing Col. Lindbergh that he would be the best man to negotiate with the criminals and ultimately hand $50,000 ransom money over to to "Cemetary John." Dr. Condon later testified at the Hauptmann trial and spent years on the lecture circuit, retelling and frequently embellishing his involvement with the "Trial of the Century."
Dr. Condon's initials, ( JFC ), when pronounced, sound like Jafsie, and this was the name he used to place a classified ad in the BRONX HOME NEWS attempting to reach out to the Kidnappers of Charles Lindbergh Junior.
"Jafsie Tells All" is a highly collectible book he wrote in 1936 regarding the Lindbergh case.
