The funeral for Richard W. Madlin , 61, of 271 Ross Road, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Notre Dame Church with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Mr. Madlin died Wednesday morning in Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, where he had been a patient since April 26.
Born June 14, 1940, in Ogdensburg, son of Richard C. and Mary Murphy Madlin , he attended St. Mary's Academy.
He married Kathleen Ward on Feb. 16, 1959, at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. George Whittaker officiating.
Mr. Madlin retired 1995 from the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, where he worked as an assistant alcoholism counselor. Previously he worked at Standard Shade Roller and at A&P Food Store. Mr. Madlin and his wife owned and operated Red Mills Cake Supply.
Mr. Madlin was an avid carpenter. He enjoyed camping, fishing and swimming.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter and her husband, four sons and two daughters-in-law, a brother, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A sister, Gaynell Downey, died in December 2000.
