Armande Carriere MacDougall, 84, St. Joseph's Nursing Home, formerly of 1029 State St., died at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, where she had been a patient for a day.
A prayer service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at noon in St. Mary's Cathedral, with Rev. James Delbel, assistant pastor, officiating. Internment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
Surviving are a son, a daughter, three stepchildren, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; three brothers, a sister, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A stepdaughter, Mrs. Paul (Rose Mary) Reale, died before her. Three sisters, Florence MacAleese, Eva Lantigne and Florida Jacobson, and three brothers, Leon DesJardins, Louis DesJardins and Oman Gardner, also died previously.
Born in Limoges, Ont., on Sept. 14, 1904, a daughter of Damien and Rosanna Goddard DesJardins, she attended schools in Carthage.
She married Edmond Carriere Feb. 4, 1924, at Notre Dame Church. Mr. Carriere was killed in an automobile accident Dec. 13, 1935.
She married Leo C. MacDougall April 14, 1959. Mr. MacDougall , a native of Ogdensburg, died July 29, 1967, at age 61.
Mrs. MacDougall was employed at the former Surprise Department Store in Ogdensburg for several years. She had resided at 1029 State St. prior to entering Moongate Nursing Home, Canton, in 1978, and St. Joseph's Nursing Home in March 1984.
