Meyer-Funeral rites will be Thursday at 9am in Sacred Heart church at Meyer for Mrs. Martin Werner, 89, who died at her home here Monday night; burial in Sacred Heart cemetery; born in Dane county, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Christina Meyer.
As a young child accompanied her parents to the area now called Meyer, formerly known as a part of Stacyville; parents were pioneers of the Meyer area.
Following her marriage to Martin Werner resided in South Dakota for a short time, then lived on a farm near Meyer, retiring to Meyer some years ago, where her husband died.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. William Gerhartz and Mrs. Leo Michels, Meyer; Mrs Christina Schumacher, in Wisconsin; six sons, John, Austin Minn.; Jacob LeRoy, Gerhard and Peter, Rose Creek, Minn., and Joseph, Charles City; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were a son, Matt, in World war I; a son, Hubert; three brothers, Gerhard, John and Peter, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Seibert and Mrs. Katherine Kuechenberg.
