Winford Douglas Jones, age 77 of Ophir, Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Morgan County Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty, Kentucky, after an extended illness.
He was born June 24, 1931 in Morgan County, Kentucky, son of the Late Lee Jones & Pearl Smith Jones.
Winford was a retired farmer.
Surviving is his wife, Armintie Gullett Jones of Ophir, KY; 1 sister, Garnette (Ronald) Hill of West Liberty, KY; 2 brothers, Bill (Lois) Jones and Jimmie (Theresa) Jones, all of West Liberty, KY, also a host of nieces & nephews.
Visitation 6:00 PM Sunday at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Funeral Home in West Liberty, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel with Rev. Eugene Haney & Elder J.C. Wright officiating.
Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery in Ophir, Kentucky.
Pallbearers: Leroy Wright, Jamie Wright, Douglas Gullett, Mike McPherson, Buford Jenkins & Gary Cantrell.
