Born in Duluth, Minnesota, the second of ten children of immigrants from Italy. The family moved to Baltimore, MD when he was about three years old.
Married Gertrude Teresa Drane November 28, 1912. They had two children.
Became an apprentice lithographer at the age of 16 and went on to become an engraver. Enjoyed doing oil portraits of family, still lifes, scenery, reproductions of master works, and self-portraits (see photo right). Also enjoyed music and later sang in a barbershop quartet.
Gertrude became ill and died at the age of 46. Remarried in 1942 to Florence Ochs but divorced by 1951.
Moved to Seattle, WA where his children and grandchildren lived. Became very active in the Talmadge Hamilton House Senior Center, serving on the governing board and teaching oil painting and other arts to the members, as well as doing handyman chores.
Died six days short of his 78th birthday.
