SPOKANE - Edna G. Southwick-Hamilton, 76, of Spokane and a former resident of the Wenatchee Valley, died Tuesday, Oct. 31, 1995, in the St. Brendan Continuing Care Center in Spokane.
She was born Sept. 7, 1919, to Henry and Viola (Bussert) Mounter at Rice. She moved with her family to Orin, and then to Kettle Falls, where she completed her early education.
She married Carl Southwick in September 1938 at Kettle Falls. They lived in Peshastin and then moved to Leavenworth. Mrs. Southwick worked at Peshastin Fruit Growers.
They moved to Marysville in 1945 and returned to Leavenworth in 1948, where Mrs. Southwick worked at the Tumwater Cafe and Peshastin Fruit Growers. They moved to Wenatchee in 1966 and operated the Greyhound Bus Depot Cafe. Following the death of her husband in 1977, she continued to manage the cafe until retiring in 1980.
She married Burl Hamilton in June 1980 in Wenatchee, and they moved to Spokane.
Survivors include her husband, at home; two sons, Dan Southwick of Kirkland and Harry Southwick of East Wenatchee; two daughters, Carlene Carter of Federal Way and Sarah Thompson of Spokane; two brothers, Paul of Peshastin and Donovan of Leavenworth; five sisters, Florence Darlington and Phyllis Mounter, both of Cashmere, Una Coons of Spanaway, Sylvia Whaley of Manson and Audry Brender of Wenatchee; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Arrangements are by Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth.
