Mrs. Jane Rebecca Holler was born at Frederick City, Maryland., March 25, 1830, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Levi D. Lybarger, Route 5, Bedford, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, November 18, 1925, aged 95 years, 7 months, and 23 days. She was the daughter of Solomon HUFFORD and Mary POWELL.
When a young girl, her parents moved to Pennsylvania and settled on the Powell farm on Dry Ridge. In 1852, she was married to Joseph Holler and soon afterward moved on the farm now owned by Henry Geller, then known as the Holler farm, owned by Mr. Holler's mother. About 1885, they bought the place now owned by George Holler, Madley, Pennsylvania, where she resided until about 6 years ago.
To Mr. and Mrs. Holler, seven children were born, 4 boys and three girls, five of whom are living: Mrs. W. L. [Phoebe] Norton and Mrs. Lucertia Muffman of Akron, Ohio, Thorton Holler of Imlertown, Pennsylvania, Mrs. L.D. [Mary] Lybarger, R. 5, Bedford, Pennsylvania, and George Holler of Madley, Pennsylvania. Two sons, John and Sewell, preceded their mother in death. There are 32 grandchildren living, 69 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Holler served as a soldier nearly the entire time of the Civil War. He died April 1902.
Mrs. Holler united with Trinity Reformed Church, Dry Ridge, in her early years and remained a member until her death.
She was buried from the home of her son-in-law, Mr. L. D. Lybarger, at Smith's Crossing, on Saturday, November 21st, at Dry Ridge Reformed Cemetery, services conducted by Rev. D. J. Ely, assisted by Rev. Slonaker.
