The television station sponsored an "Axel Day" at an amusement park and over 12,000 kids showed up to see their favorite television hero. Axel entertained children of all ages with riddles, zingers, and Knock-knock jokes sent in by the viewers. He used sound effects, Snorts, whistles, and a mangled Swedish accent. He soon became the hottest television personality in the Twin Cities. Also starting in the show was Don Stolz who played Towser the Dog and Tallulah the Cat.
