MERLE MARION REPASS March 4, 1971
Merle Marion Repass, 73, died Thursday afternoon in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Peoria, Ill, the son of the late William Marion Repass Sr., and Mary Wilcoxen, he had been a resident of Washington D.C. from 1934 until 1965, having retired from the federal government, in 1963. He was a geologist and mining engineer, working with the Reconstruction Finance Corp. and later the Treasure Department. He was a graduate of Stanford University, and a member of the American Institute of Mining Engineers.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nancy Dalton Repass; two daughters, Mrs. C. R. James Jr. Cedar Hill, Tex., Mrs. R. L. Dedrick, McLean. Also eight grandchildren, one brother, William M. Repass Sr. of Modesto, Calif.: two sisters, Mrs. George Mallory, Modesto, Calif.; and Mrs. Virginia Mann of Santa Rosa, Calif.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Robert H. Duncan officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Active pallbearers were Bernard Kaylor, David Beamer, Charles M. Allison, Miller Bushong, Pete Kirchner, Fred Dent.
Memorials may be sent to Birdmont Manor Methodist Bursing Home, Wytheville. These may be sent through the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, Va.
