At the home of his daughter, Mrs. O.O. Weaver, of South Fourth and Antis Streets, Bellwood, Shedrick M. Steffey died at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday morning, of paralysis. Mr. Steffey was born in Huntingdon County, near McAlevy's Fort, 7 August 1830, a son of Samuel and Elizabeth Wilson Steffey. By occupation he was a school teacher. Surviving are 6 children - Mrs. Annie Meek, of East Altoona; Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, of State College; Mrs. Ada Blair, of Altoona; Mrs. Mintie Markel and Mrs. O.L. Weaver, of Bellwood; W.W. of Pitsburg; also 29 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. The funeral will take place on Thusrday afternoon, at the Weaver home, conducted by Rev. J. Anderson, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, of which he was a faithful member. Shedrack M. Steffey, one of the most prominent residents of Bellwood, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O.L. Weaver, of the place, at 9:15 o'clock yesterday morning, aged 87 years. Death was due to disease incident to old age, he having been ill for some time. Mr. Steffey was born at McAlevy's Fort, Huntingdon County, Aug. 7, 1831 and spent his entire life in Huntingdon and Blair counties. He is survived by the following children; Mrs. Anna Meek,East Altoona; Mrs. Mintie Markle, Bellwood; Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, State Colleg; Mrs. Ada Blair, Altoona; William Steffey, Aliquippa and Mrs. O.L. Weaver. Twenty nine grand children, thirty nine great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren also survive. He was a memeber of the Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Weaver, Bellwood, at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon and burial will be made in the Logan Valley Cemetery.
